Laser Hair Removal

How It Works:

Wouldn’t it be great not to shave everyday!! Laser Hair removal is a safe and effective solution for removing unwanted hair. At Renu Laser and Skin Care Centre, we have the LightSheer diode laser which is a state-of-the-art system specially designed to remove unwanted hair faster, with less discomfort and more reliably than other methods.

A laser produces a beam of highly concentrated light which is absorbed by the pigment located in the hair follicles. During the procedure, the laser is passed along the area to be treated and pulses for a fraction of a second which is long enough to heat up the hair and significantly impede the follicle’s ability to re-grow. The process also treats numerous hair follicles simultaneously so larger areas of the body can be treated both quickly and effectively.

What To Expect:

The length of a treatment may last anywhere from a few minutes to an hour or more depending on the size of the area being treated. It is important to know that the hairs in an active growth phase (referred to as anagen) are most affected by the laser. As all hairs are not in this phase at the same time, more than one treatment will be necessary to achieve the best results. The laser treatment can cause some slight discomfort but most people tolerate the procedure well.

The treated area immediately following treatment will appear slightly red and may have some swelling, which are the desired responses for the treatment to be successful. This will vary from person to person and often differs in the areas treated. These responses will fade shortly after treatment and most people can return to normal activity right away.
