Photorejuvenation / IPL
Treatment for: Aged and Sun Damaged Skin, Rosacea
How it works
Photorejuvenation uses intense pulsed light (IPL) to fade or eliminate benign (non cancerous) pigmented spots and vascular lesions (broken veins and capillaries) while diminishing the size of pores and reducing sun damage and fine lines on the skin. Photorejuvenation causes new cells to form; it also stimulates the creation of collagen in the dermis. Consequently your skin becomes smoother, with a younger glow.
Photorejuvenation can be done with a variety of IPL devices on the market. At Renu Laser & Skin Care Centre we have the Lumenis One, which is one of the most up-to-date IPL machine available today and has proven to be one of the most effective.
What to expect
A Photorejuvenation treatment takes on average 30 minutes for the full face. There are multiple pulses performed over the entire face or single area to be treated. There is little downtime with some redness post treatment which normally fades within a few hours. There can be some slight swelling the following day which often goes down as the day progresses. It is recommended that for more severe sun damage and vessels that multiple treatments are performed for the best results. A series of 3 treatments is recommended and this will result in visible improvements in the reduction of brown spots, vessels on the cheeks and side of the nose as well as an overall even skin tone and texture. Rosacea is a condition that is often difficult to treat and maintain but with an initial series of treatments and following treatments at selected intervals the flushing and redness associated with rosacea can often be controlled and tolerated.
